OUR CREATIVE FAMILY SPIRIT

MEET JACK HOGAN

Jack Hogan is a young man with Autism and Epilepsy. From a very early age he has shown creative impulses. Once he overcame some physical challenges he began to create his own unique artworks. From the ages of 6 to 14, Jack would create what we used to refer as "Tableau's" with his toys and other objects. A grand "lining up" and posing that could take up a large space. We found these amazing and photographed them when the opportunity (before Jack deconstructed them, again). When Jack grew older, and his motor skills improved, he began to cut things out with scissors, then create collages by gluing the cut-outs onto paper, and adding stickers. Later, he taught himself how to use an ipad. When he discovered the ipad had a built in camera (and editing software) he began taking photographs and then decorating those photographs. His need to create Art is tangible, and as a family of creatives we encourage him to continue his creative projects as it gives him so much joy.
